Rob Burrow died at just 41 years old yesterday from Motor Neurone Disease – MND; he played International Rugby League for England and Great Britain as well as Leeds’ Rhinos. Together with his friend Kevin Sinfield, and his family, Rob Burrow managed to raise a huge amount of money for MNDA and also raised awareness of just what a terrible illness MND is. We offer sincere condolences to his family and friends following this devastating loss. The outpouring of love for Rob and his family cannot be over estimated – he was a true warrior and a wonderful family man.
In 2023, because of the horrible stories in the news of both Rob Burrow and Doddie Weir suffering from Motor Neurone Disease, (Doddie was an International Rugby Union player for Scotland) the Society supported SITraN (Sheffield Institute for Translational Neuro Science) with a donation of £1000. Rob and Doddie are now very sadly both deceased. They were lovely men, who have done so much, to show the wider world just what a terrible disease MND is; both men with young families,
