Lord Hattersley, Life Member of the Society over many years has died on 13th June aged 93. He attended the Autumn Dinner in 1998 and was the After Dinner Speaker at our very first Charity Cricket Day, in memory of Phil Carrick, on June 23rd 2000
Roy Sydney George Hattersley, Baron Hattersley (28 December 1932 – 13 June 2026) was a British politician, author and journalist. A member of the Labour Party, he was MP for Birmingham Sparkbrook for over 32 years from 1964 to 1997, and served as Deputy Leader of the Labour Party from 1983 to 1992.[1]
Before and after retirement from front-line politics, Hattersley wrote over 20 books on a wide variety of subjects.
