Joy’s funeral service will take place at 2.30pm on Tuesday 13th October 2026 at Christ Church, Dore (S17 3GS) followed by a private (family) cremation at Hutcliffe Wood and then tea/drinks at Abbeydale Sports Club (S17 3LJ)
Sheffield Cricket Lovers will make a donation to a charity of Joy’s husband, Brian’s choice.
We were very shocked and saddened that our long-standing member, Joy Alexander-Hall died suddenly on 7th September following a short illness. Joy is shown here on the right at our Annual dinner 2025 standing alongside Dr Jane Powell, past President of Yorkshire County Cricket Club and fellow hockey and cricket player
Her life is comprehensively covered in our Year Book 2021 Page 12

This article highlights her illustrious sporting career – not many people can claim to have played International Squash and Cricket plus Hockey at County level – quite a feat and quite a lady – she will be hugely missed at Society events and meetings. Our heartfelt thoughts go to Joy’s husband Brian and their family.
